The SWISSCHARGER G-Serie

In probably the most extensive test of the last few years in the Institute for Electronics at the ETH Zürich (Federal Technical University) under the conduction of the internationally renowned Rechargeable Battery Expert Dr. Rolf Zinniker the most up-to-date chargers and rechargeable batteries were tested. Thereby it was detected that many chargers were technically not capable of fully charging high performance rechargeable batteries with the newest technology.The choice of the right charger is an essential factor for the application of rechargeable batteries. What test results the new SWISSCHARGER has achieved, you can read further below.

IC-Analyzer

Most of today's chargers are programmed to charge rechargeable batteries – however without consideration of the type of battery, charging condition, age etc.The new SC-G5 is equipped with a Microprocessor - Analyzer.Before it starts working it analyzes what kind of rechargeable battery in which state is inserted.

IC-Charging control

Based upon the data measured by the Analyzer the charging process, the charging duration etc. Is individually adapted.

Each battery tray is checked separately by the microprocessor every 0.5 seconds and the charging process is individually adapted. This way rechargeable batteries of different sizes, brands, capacities etc. can be charged simultaneously without hesitation. In the end of the charging process the unit switches to automatic charge maintenance – the batteries can stay in the charger with no time limit.Moreover the SC-G5 has an automatic discharge / refresh function to train rechargeable batteries for the highest performance.

Electronic AC Adapter for world-wide use

In spite of smallest dimensions the electronic AC-adapter is integrated in the charger unit. The adaptation to all available network tensions and frequencies world-wide is made fully automatically and that to 12-24V DC (car etc.) as well as 100-240V AC. As the first and only Battery charger the SWISSCHARGER does not need additional external AC/DC Adapters.

Multi-Safety Sensors

Based upon our vision that in near future the disposable batteries are completely replaced by rechargeable batteries, absolute safety and simplest handling by anyone are a must.Integrated sensors take care for example that nothing happens if non-rechargeable or defective batteries are inserted. In addition, temperature sensors provide extra safety and a long battery life.

Ultra compact / light-weight

The latest microprocessors and components allow to place the whole electronics in a most compact (111 x 72 x 36mm) and elegant pearl-silver coated case. The weight is only 115 gr.

LCD - Display

When the integrated microprocessors know the exact status of the batteries and the charging process already, in fact it is not more than logical to show this information on a graphical back-lighted LCD Display.

The charging time

Due to the specifications for maximal safety and a gentle charging process for a long battery lifetime, the charging current is strictly limited. The charging duration for a simultaneous charging of four fully discharged rechargeable batteries is five hours at most. The charging control is fully automatic.

Future-proof

The new charging process makes sure that also future NIMH rechargeable battery systems can be fully charged. The electric automatically adapts to any battery capacity.

International studies have shown that electric appliances and power supplies are only "working" during 5-25% of the time and using unnecessary power in Stand-by Mode during the rest of the time. Only in Switzerland this "wasted" power adds up to 10% of the total power consumption.
