It's amazing but true: Less mAh(Capacity) is more!

We like to make the following comparison: Is the best car the one with the highest cylinder capacity? Certainly not – there are other criteria like security, road-holding, consumption, torque, comfort, brakes, and  so on...

With rechargeable batteries it is alike. The best rechargeable battery is not necessarily the one with the highest mAh (capacity), but the one that has further important characteristics like low self-discharge, high tension capability, robustness and long durability. These criteria are perfectly met by the new accubattery.

Even more power?

The rechargeable battery technology has made fantastic progress in the last few years. The capacity has been increasing steadily – and was accordingly declared in mAh (milli Ampere hours).

The Benchmark

In the year 2006 a preliminary benchmark was achieved with 2700mAh for cell size AA (MN1500) and 1000mAh for cell size AAA (MN2400). All efforts to further increase this rechargeable battery capacity have failed after that. Herewith you know now that when a rechargeable battery manufacturer indicates a higher capacity than 2700/1000mAh, this promise cannot be kept.

High Power / Evolution instead of Revolution

If properly handled for the right purpose and use high performance rechargeable batteries deliver a whole lot of power. However, a higher capacity has it's price: These “top athletes” are less robust and accept less handling failures.

Optimize instead of Maximize

In search of the most perfect rechargeable battery, one thing was soon clear to us: The best Product must be a combination of highest possible Power, Robustness and suitability for daily use. All this was achieved by a reinforced Anode (Plus-pole), a new alloy for the Cathode (Minus-pole) and specially by introducing a fully novel Separator (porous non-leading  synthetic material between Anode and Cathode).

Worldwide Novelty: accubattery is the first rechargeable battery in the world with self-regeneration tension behavior. Even after a complete discharge to Zero Volt the capacitive Separator foil generates new tension within seconds after disconnection from the appliance, so that a charger is able to recognize the rechargeable battery and will start charging.

Better Performance

The great advantages of accubattery must not be gained by compromises. A lower interior resistance in comparison to previous rechargeable NIMH Batteries and a higher tension takes care that for example if used in a digital camera more pictures can be taken than with present high capacity batteries. Thanks to the optimized self-discharge even after several months of storage and not if they come straight out of the charger.
